Cookie Policy

Puzzle Run uses a small amount of browser storage — cookies, localStorage, and IndexedDB — to make the game work. Here's exactly what and why.

1. Strictly necessary storage

These are required for the game to function and can't be switched off:

• Game progress & streaks (localStorage): keys prefixed btb: store your daily results and streak tally on this device — this is the only place guest progress lives.
• Sign-in session (IndexedDB / localStorage): Firebase Authentication keeps you signed in between visits.

2. Analytics

We use Google Analytics for Firebase to see aggregate usage (which screens are viewed, on what kind of device). It sets identifiers such as Google's _ga cookies / app-instance IDs. We use this only to improve the game — not for advertising.

3. Payments

When you open the Puzzle Run Plus checkout, Lemon Squeezy (our merchant of record) may set cookies needed to process the purchase securely and prevent fraud. These appear only if you start a checkout.

4. Third-party requests

Fonts and icons are served from puzzle-run.com itself, so no font service or CDN receives your IP address when a page loads. The only third parties your browser contacts are the ones above: Firebase (sign-in, database, analytics) on every visit, and Lemon Squeezy if you open a checkout. Each receives your IP address as part of the request, but we don't share anything else with them.

5. Managing storage

You can clear or block this storage in your browser settings ("clear site data" removes everything, including guest streaks). Blocking strictly necessary storage will break sign-in and progress saving; the daily puzzle itself will still load.
